Directions for Best Results

- For dogs less than 5 pounds, use 1/8 level teaspoon per day
- For dogs between 5 and 10 pounds, use ¼ level teaspoon per day
- For dogs between 10 and 15 pounds use ½ level teaspoon per day
- For dogs between 15 and 25 pounds use ¾ level teaspoon per day
- For dogs weighing more than 25 pounds, use 1 level teaspoon per day
Recommended doses above will yield 5mg/day per Kilogram of body weight.
- Give recommended dose above until tear stains are completely gone. This usually will take between 4-6 weeks. The permanently stained hairs have to grow out and be replaced by new pristine growth.
- Once you are satisfied that the tear stains are Completely Gone, then continue the above dose for an additional ten days.
- After the ten days, start to taper off the doses,....first every other day for a week, then twice a week, once a week and stop. If tear stains begin to return during this time, increase the dose and maintain your dog at that level to keep the staining at bay.
Approximately 1/3 of dogs will require ongoing maintenance doses. Fortunately, there are no harmful effects of long term dosing. The active ingredient in Tear Stain Away has been tested in three generations of dogs at high doses with no genetic, no cancer causing, or other harmful effect. There is no accumulation of the product in the pet’s tissues.
